DRIVERS AND MOBILE PHONES
There has been some concern recently about continued sightings of drivers passing through Ulceby whilst talking on their mobile phones.
Humberside Police has reminded us that if you spot a driver using a mobile phone, you should try to get the vehicle number, time and place and call the Police on 0845 60 60 222. Or Dial 999 if they are driving dangerously
The police will not mind at all if you use 999 to report such cases of dangerous driving.

Don't forget the NLC Road Accident Near-Miss Report Form
Station Road - Crossroads - Ulceby Truck Stop
This online facility is designed for logging incidents when a collision is narrowly avoided, for example when a car pulls out of a junction forcing vehicles to brake sharply, OR a very minor collision takes place when the Police are not called.
This form is not for speeding, highway faults, road rage or dangerous driving reporting.
The data helps NLC and Humberside Police build up a picture of what is happening on our roads and to identify common factors, to see if minor changes can be made or whether 'high impact publicity' (to quote NLC) will ease the situation.
It is in your interests to report ALL NEAR MISS incidents direct to NLC this way, in the hope of highlighting the notorious problems especially at the crossroads and along Station Road and Ulceby Fort Truck Stop.

The Health Protection Agency has praised Ulceby's new Community Emergency Plan at an HPA meeting held in Hull on 6th March.
Ulceby is the first to implement such a plan that help provide local resources in an emergency (severe flooding, major accidents, etc.), until the local authorities and emergency services can take over.
The plan was compiled by a special group from the Parish Council. The Parish Council would like to thank those who volunteered to provide special skills or resources if called upon in an emergency.
New Housing In Ulceby
Delighted tenants and residents are already moving in to the new starter/ shared ownership development off Martins Road.
-
Off Coronation Road, the Keigar development provisionally called 'The Paddock' is likely to have a name change to avoid confusion with existing properties. At the moment, the preferred name is "Sackville Close".
-
Sackville George Pelham was the 5th Earl of Yarborough. Wikipedia has more details...
